Ivan Krastev is a Bulgarian political scientist and one of Europe’s leading public intellectuals on democracy and liberal politics. He chairs the Centre for Liberal Strategies and is an Albert Hirschman Permanent Fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. His work examines the crises of liberal democracy, populism and trust in institutions.
