Emily O’Reilly served as European Ombudsman from 2013 to 2025, investigating maladministration in EU institutions and promoting openness, fairness and accountability. Previously, she served as Ireland’s Ombudsman and Information Commissioner. Since leaving office, she has remained active in international initiatives on open government and democratic standards.
